The recent progress is reviewed of electroconductive vitreous materials investigated by the present author and his coworkers. The materials include (a) chalcogenide glasses, (b) vitreous chalcogenide semiconductors, (c) superionic conducting glasses, and (d) ion-conductive vitreous materials by rapid quenching. This review is concerned with preparations, constitutions, infrared-optical, thermal and electrical properties, conduction processes, and related applications of these materials.
