The evolution of a purely axial displacement given as the initial data is calculated for slowly rotating relativistic stars. The radiation reaction effect is incorporated by the near-zone boundary conditions for the out-going wave solution. We numerically evaluate the growth rate of the amplitude of the fluid oscillations due to the radiation reaction instability. The growth rate is approximately equal to that in Newtonian case, within a factor 2 even in relativistic cases. We also discuss the secular change of the functional form in long term evolution.
