Nucleon diffraction dissociation into πN is investigated in the framework of a two-component model, which consists of the resonance production term and the background term. Recent experimental date in the highest energy regions suggest the the background term must have more complicated structure than usual π-exchange Drell-Hiida-Deck mechanism. It is shown that in order to explain the observed momentum transfer distributions three graphs (π-exchange, nucleon-exchange and direct nucleon pole) with the PS(PV) coupling for the πNN vertex, we point out that the final state interaction in the produced πN system must be incorporated to reproduce the mass distribution , especially the peak near 1.36 GeV in the very small momentum transfer region. Our analysis offers new information about the partial wave structure, which explains the dip structure at W〜1.2 GeV in the slope-mass correlation.
