Phenomenological aspects of quarks and leptons are investigated in the SU(7)⊗SU(7) unified preon model. A gauge symmetry denoted by SU_g(2) plays important roles in bringing the model close to reality. An assumption that post-hypercolor interactions of quarks and leptons are approximately left-right symmetric is made. It sheds new light on the generation structure and weak decays of quarks, in particular on the suppression of b-quark decays. Also discussed are possible effects on nucleon decays of the non-repetitive generation structure of our model.
