Dynamical condensation to break the SU(2)⊗U(1) symmetry of electroweak interactions is studied in the framework of composite models for quarks and leptons. The required breaking is ascribed to pair condensation of the quarks belonging to the heaviest generation by residual hypercolor interactions. It is caused by a mechanism quite similar to the theory of superconductivity. The natural emergence of a hierarchical structure is discussed. It is also suggested that the number of quark-lepton generations is most plausibly four.
