The study deals with an algebraic definition of the canonical coordinates and their use in constructing the Hamiltonian relevant to the one-dimensional SU(N+1) Toda-type molecule systems, thereby conjugacies and dualities between variables being clarified. This attempt is made in preparation for the quantisation of the system: Some quantum aspects of the perturbed system are exemplified by solving the SU(2) case.
