We show that the perturbative calculation in QCD suffers from the third ambiguity, in addition to the renormalization-scheme (RS) and the factorization-scheme (FS) dependences. The origin of this new ambiguity comes from the facts that the strong coupling constant generally depends on at least two mass-scales, the renormalization and the factorization scales μ and M, and that in integrating the coupled renormalization group equations with respect to μ and M in order to define the QCD coupling constant we are forced to specify the integration-path. The perturbative approximation introduces into the physical quantity the integration-path-dependence, which is in effect the same order of magnitude as the RS- and FS-dependences, namely one order higher than the calculation done.
