A Modified Glauber Approximation and the Stopping Power of the Nuclear Matter

Slowing down of a nucleon in the nuclear medium due to the coherent excitation of phonons is estimated in a modified Glauber approximation. The velocity of the incoming nucleon shows a rather sharp decrease at a certain point after a gradual decrease at the first stage.
