To render the theory of the dual string model Lorentz invariant without the restriction of the critical dimension (26 dimensions), it is studied in this first paper of the series how the calculations of the string theory in the light-like gauge are translated to those of the massless scalar theory in the hypothetical space-time whose dimensionality is continuous and is finally sent to two. Two intermediary formulations are particularly useful; the para and ortho polar field theories which are the Euclidean field theories expressed in terms of the variables in the polar coordinate system.
