We obtained a formula showing the decrease of the energy gap at finite temperatures for a superconductor in the presence of a static magnetic field. We calculated the decrease up to the second order in the field strength both in the London limit and the Pippard limit. In the London limit there appear terms depending on A^2 as well as B^2. Near the absolute zero of temperature, we determined the temperature dependence of them explicitly. The results agree with Nambu and Tuan's, as the temperature tends to zero. Using the above result, we extended the Ginzburg-Landau equation for a superconductor of the London type. This has a new term. And this agrees with GLG equation when the temperature approaches the temperature of the critical point.
