It is shown that for the vibrational frequency spectrum of isotopically or non-isotopically disordered polyatomic chain,. and for the electronic energy spectrum of the disordered Kronig-Penney model with randomly varying strength of potentials and interval between them, the second theorem presented in the first paper reduces to a theorem which is very similar to the ordinary Saxon-Hutner's theorem. For the case in which only the interval between potentials is disordered, the theorem leads to the condition for persistence of spectral gaps, which is just what was previously found by Borland. The validity of the ordinary Saxon-Hutner's theorem is also discussed.
