This is a phenomenological analysis of proton-proton and proton-neutron scattering at about 6 GeV. Our viewpoint is that fundamental mechanisms for the nucleon-nucleon interaction are absorption for an imaginary amplitude and one-boson-exchange for a real amplitude. We construct a model which reproduces satisfactorily all the available nucleon-nucleon data at 6 GeV, and point out that the one-boson-exchange amplitude has an applicability to the description of spin-variable and isospin-variable dependence of the amplitude at high energy. An absorptive contribution from N^*-production is suggested as well as from uncorrelated multi-meson production. Isospin exchange effect in high energy scattering is also discussed.
