Modification of Quasi-Particle Theory in Spherical Nuclei. II : Numerical Calculations in Nuclei with Z or N≃40

A method of dealing with the pairing Hamiltonian properly is applied to nuclei with Z or N≃40 in which the p_<1/2> orbit plays an important role. The very low-lying 0^+ states in these nuclei are investigated within the pairing model. The calculated results are compared with those of the shell model and the BCS approximation as well as the experiments. It is shown that the method is useful in any realistic case. A modified quasi-particle gives a good approximation in place of the BCS quasi-particle.
