The weak interaction and its selection rule of the quartet model based on SU(4)⊃SU(2) ⊗SU(2) are discussed. In the (V-A) type quark current J_μ; J_μ=n^^-Γ_μp cosθ+λ^^-Γ_μp sinθ-n^^-Γ_μχsinθ'+λ^^-Γ_μχcosθ', χthe fourth quark, taking into account the possibility θ≠θ' we propose a phenomenological method to determine θ', by means of the ratio of the partial decay widths of L-meson, where L=(p^^-χ, n^^-χ). Next, the new selection rule of the weak interaction in our quartet model, ∣ΔI∣=∣ΔU∣, is proposed and a method to check the selection rule is investigated in terms of the decays of baryons containing the χ-quark.
