Low Energy Kaon-Nucleon Reactions

The low energy KN and K^^-N reactions are investigated in the case in which the kaonnucleon-hyperon interaction is of the scalar type, with the nonrelativistic approximation. Direct interactions between kaons and pions are not considered. The higher order effects of kaons and pions are examined in detail and their importance is emphasized. It is shown that, as far as the parameters are adjusted to fit the experimental data on the KN scattering, those of the K^^-N scattering can be hardly reproduced.
