Man's concern about nutrition is great in all ages and countries. This is because of this desire to promote health. In the present days, the nutritional role of food elements are elucidated and informations about nutrition are wide spread. On the other hand, there are some excellent books on histories of nutrition in the past. These are, however, almost out of date. In spite of these informations, there are no compact and comprehensive reports describing origins of nutritional enents such as discovery of nutrients and physiological and relevant physicochemical phenomena and so on. To respond to the requirements in the information ages, this paper aims to describe the important events of nutrition in chronological order based on previous descriptions and publications so far on the historical events and the related fields of nutritional organizations. Above all, the descriptions stress on the origins of the classified events in nutritional histories and their significant evaluations. Nutritional problems are not only those of nutrients and their metabolism but also nutritional policies from governments, which are also dealt with. In addition, from the ecological point of view in promoting health, we presented and discussed the present problems of nutrition.
