As you can imagine from the fact that E.S. Morse in Japan was called a father of the modern archaeology, he was so famous in relation with the learning of archaeology. But, it proved to be true that he was deeply related with Museum business according to the recent study as well. That is to say, he took his position as a part-time employee of the former Educational Museum, the present National Science Museum founded independently as a juridical person by the government and the founder of the smallsized museum set-up in the space of the Department of Law, Science and Literature of the Tokyo University, the first one of many museums established inside of universities in Japan. I would like to introduce hereby some materials regarding E.S. Morse and the Museum and mention about his way of organizing a museum as a curator of museum.
