• A potentially five coordinate Pd(II) Complex, [PdCl(PPh_3)_2(phen)] [BF_4]-(CH_3)_2CO has been prepared by reacting [PdCl(PPh_3)_3] [BF_4] with potentially bidentate N-heterocyclic ligand 1,10-phenanthroline. The latter complex is isoelectronic structure with Wilkinson complex RhCl(PPh_3)_3. By ^31P{^1H}, ^1H-nmr, and electronic spectroscopy, the dynamic structure of the complex is proposed. The X-ray single crystal struclure analysis has been performed in the noncentrosymmetric space group Pna2_1,which is unfortunately defined that the entrie structure needs to be converted to the controsymmetric space group Pnma. The crystal structure of this denotable five coordinate ccmplex thus determind with R value false minimum is nevertheless providing an approximate aim of the re-refined structure. Therefore, as a critical evaluation, a structural factor tables and a formal structure view in the noncentrosymmetric space group Pna2_1 are daringly described in this paper.
