The fine structure of fully developed cercariae of Trichobilharzia physellae was observed by means of a scanning electron microscope. The body of the cercariae was covered with definite spines which projected in a posterior direction of the body. Posterior half of the body, tail and caudal furcae had fewer spines than the anterior half of the body, and the anterior tip of the body had no spine. The ventral sucker appeared to be a plateau when it was fully protruded, and was covered more closely with slightly fine spines. Several pores, possibly the openings of the acetabular gland ducts, and associated papilla-like protrusions were situated at the anterior end of the body. Sometimes a mass of secretory materials adhered at the anterior region thus obscuring all structures underneath. The fins on either side of the caudal furcae and the nails on the posterior end of the caudal furcae were composed of thin membranous materials which were continuous with the tegument of the tail.
