In this paper, we report the anti-sway control of a Traveling Crane using state feedback control. Such the traveling crane systems often cause the load to sway when the arm of the crane begins to move along the traveling way or when a disturbance is added to the crane system. Our results show that the sway of the load is supperessed by the state feedback control of which the gain is given by solving the optimal regulator problem. Furthermore, we found that the steady-state error does not appear in the optimal servo system when a disturbance is added to the system.
