<RESEARCH REPORT>High Power Ion-Irradiation Test for CTR First Wall

It was experimentally demonstrated that high power irradiation of ions on metal surface can be made by using 'Plasma Anode' for electron beam generation. The irradiation power of 600keV protons was 50MW・cm^<-2> which is comparable with pulse power loading of CTR tokamak first wall at a strong major disruption. Damage of 304 stainless steel by this irradiation was different from by usual irradiation of ions at low power level.
