The effect of hydrostatic pressure on the dielectric behavior of ferroelectric copolymers of vinylidene fluoride and trifluoroethylene is discussed to elucidate the roles of intermolecular and intramolecular interactions in a ferroelectric-paraelectric phase transition of the polymers. The phase transition temperature and temperature hysteresis of the phase transition are influenced by the hydrostatic pressure. It is concluded that these effects of hydrostatic pressure result from its selective working on the intermolecular interaction.
