本邦における年々増加する乳がん死亡数, 死亡率は, 対がん政策上, 大きな問題である。また, 社会的に重要な若い世代のがん死亡率の第一位は乳がんであり, 早急に取り組まなければならない課題である。これは乳がん検診受診率が低いことが最大の原因である。本稿において北海道の乳がん検診の現状, われわれが行っている乳がんの啓蒙, 乳がん検診受診者を増やすための取り組みとしてのピンクリボン運動in Sapporo, 母親学級での乳がん講話, 札幌雪まつりにおける雪像作り, With you北海道～あなたとブレストケアを考える会～を紹介する。
