We investigated the characteristics of a newly developed glass dosimeter and QA meter in the mammographic energy range. The dose response, energy dependence, and measurement of effective energy of both the glass and QA dosimeters were performed and compared with those of an ionization chamber. The dose response of the glass dosimeter and QA meter showed good agreement with the ionization chamber. The effective energy of the glass dosimeter was approximately 3% lower, and the QA meter was 4% higher on average than that of the ionization dosimeter. However, it is concluded that the QA meter and glass dosimeter will be useful as dosimeters for quality control in mammographic dose measurement.
