Seven severely retarded children, ranging in age from seven months to six years, with recurrent vomiting are reported. The diagnosis of gastroesophageal reflux was made on upper gastrointestinal series and the pH monitoring of the distal esophagus.<BR>We evaluated the effect of domperidone on recurrent vomiting in six patients. Vomiting disappeared in four cases. We sometimes found gastroesophageal reflux by the pH monitoring even after the disappearance of vomiting. Therefore we must decide carefully when domperidone therapy is discontinued.
