Bovine serum albumin accelerated the transport of L-tryptophan into the small intestines of rabbits, unless the L-tryptophan was present in high concetration. Km decreased but Vmax didn't, suggesting that the affinity of the perfused intestine for L-tryptophan increased. The albumin did not accelerate L-phenylalanine transport, another aromatic aminoacid.
