Treating cage compounds 1 with triarylaminium cation radical salts, 3 and 4, resulted in the effective conversion of 1 to dienes 2. The cation radical isomerization induced by electron-transfer from 1 to aminium salt was suggested by the effect of substituent of 1 as well as by the effect of addition of electron donors as quenchers.
