• The reaction of <I>S</I>,<I>S</I>-diphenyl-S-methoxythiazyne with various thiols gave methyl sulfides. Kinetic investigations support a mechanism involving an initial protonation of the thiazyne nitrogen with thiol followed by a nucleophilic attack of thiolate anion on the methyl group.
