Aithought neurinomas of the spinal cord are frequently reported, multiple ones are seldom. As a spinal canal of the lumbar vertebrae is relatively wide, no neurological symptoms will often occur until tumors grow remarkably. Diagnosis will be delayed in many cases. We have recently experienced a case of multiple neurinoma originated from the cauda equina.A 70-year-old woman had complained of numbness and pain of the left lower extremity for a long time. Her symptoms had slowly gotten worse. She visited our hospital in August 1986. Myelogram and CT-Myelo showed a giant intradural tumor which looked multi-locular.The tumor was separated to four parts and proved to be neurinoma histologically.
