In 7 cases, our experience with the management of sacral decubitus by means of gluteus maximus myocutaneus flap is reviewed. These cases are now between 2 and 20 months postoperative. There has been one case of partial flap necrosis, which healed after free skin graft.Complications have consisted of 2 cases of fistulisation. These required excision of fistula but there was no recurrence. These fistulisations seem to be due to early weight-bearing over the myocutaneus flap, therefore, we think that long-term weight-bearing must be avoided for 6 weeks postoperatively as well as skin flap.In general, this method seems to be technically easy and safe.
