Dynamic characteristics of the concentration of the slurry delivered from a slurry tank is analysed mathematically, assuming that a slurry tank be a time-lag vibration system concerning the slurry concentration.<BR>If the concentration variation of the slurry deilvered from a slurry tank lags behind the average slurry concentration in a slurry tank, the following results will be derived. (1) The concentration variation of the slurry delivered becomes too excessive when the time lag is larger than a certain critical value determined by the slurry tank characteristics. (2) If the velocity of the pulp to the slurry tank oscillates, the lower frequency components of the feeding velocity variation remain as steady oscillations of the slurry concentration but the effects o the higher frequency components are negligible. A kind ofresonance concerning the concentration variation will occur for the intermediate frequency components, when the time lag is sufficiently large.
