By theoretical study, the difference of temperature was in need of two or three degree between temperature of underground water and underground temperature in 1 meter depth to estimate the channels and the scale of ground water vein stream. At the Matsunoyama landslide area, the most desirable period in a year to conduct the survey was March or April in spring and September in autumn. The scale of the vein stream changed by precipitation. Increase of precipitation brought about, in general, increase of the scale. In a rainy season this phenomenon had closely connection with landslide movement. In estimating the scale of vein stream, one must pay close attention to the decision of the ordinary temperature in 1 meter depth and a style of writing of T x=1-y diagrams. Because errors of these factors had a large effect on the estimated scales.
