For separation of each component of Fe, Al and Mn from beryllium salt solution, (NH<SUB>4</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>S solution is added to precipitate FeS and MnS, then treated with (NH<SUB>4</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>CO<SUB>3</SUB> solution to precipitate Al(OH)<SUB>3</SUB>, and the filtrate is used for precipitation of Be(OH)<SUB>2</SUB> by usual method to be determined as BeO. In the presence of Fe and Al, Be is precipitated as hydroxide together with them, concentrated by adding a small amount of glacial acetic acid in order to form each of their basic acetate, extracted with CHCl<SUB>3</SUB>, washed with water, evaporated to dryness, the Be<SUB>4</SUB>O(CH<SUB>3</SUB>COO)<SUB>6</SUB> is taken up with water, the Fe is removed by Moser and Rothe methods, and the residue is determined as BeO. Good result is obtained by this method. The method of formation of basic acetate by use of Na acetate is unsatisfactory as the Be is always coprecipitated with iron salt.
