Decrease in Δ4-reductase activity was observed in SHR at 15 and 20w of age, e.g., only when hypertension was established. Even if hypertension was corrected by fusaric acid (FA) administration, the decrease in Δ4-reductase activity was not reversed. Thus the decrease in Δ4-reductase in SHR might be caused by factors other than hypertension
