The prototype perception of the international world is a kind of stereotyped knowledge. This short thesis studies the formation of the prototype of modern China's view of the international world based upon basic historical documents selected from the end of World War I to 1950. This period coincides with that from the birth of the Chinese Communist party to its seizure of power. During this period, the formation, destruction, and re-formation of the world order, paralleled the beginning, proceeding and success of the communist revolution, and greatly influenced modern China's view on the outside world. After this period, the prototype perception which made an impact on Chinese diplomacy had completed its form. During this period "democracy" and "anti-Japanese" sentiments joined together as two aspects of one idea. So the civil movement and national movement, from the very beginning, proceeded simultaneously as one stream. From then on, the awakening of aspirations for big power, emphasis placed on international cooperation, ideas of an international socialistic movement, a "united front" based on mutual interest, and a tradition of willing push flexibility to its extreme for the purpose of compromise in order to establish the "united front," all gradually came into place.
