Experiments were conducted to examine the heat transfer enhancement in the downstream region of a mckward-facing step using a small amount of mist. The both flow patterns of adding the mist and without one were visualized in order to studying the effect of the mist on the flow field in the channel. The mist dose not affect the flow :field. Additionally, in order to obtain the more effective spatial temperature distribution of the main flow and enhance he heat transfer, the rod was installed in the channel. The rod was inserted in three positions near the top end of the step n the channel. It is concluded that inserting the rod and spraying the mist are effective to enhance the heat transfer if the -od is inserted in the proper position.
