The aim of this study was to clarify the relationship among fatigue strength, flexural strength and volumetric wear loss. A 3-point bending test was used to measure the flexural strength and flexural fatigue strengths at 10^5 cyclic loadings with a staircase method. The volumetric wear losses after 50,000 cycles using a ball-sliding on disc wear testing machine with water, PMMA bead and crushed poppy seed slurries were evaluated. The volumetric wear loss in water showed a tendency to increase with an increase of the fatigue strength and the flexural strength, that in poppy seed showed an inverse tendency, and that in PMMA beads did not show an obvious tendency. No obvious relationships among the three properties could be detected.
