Accelerating synthetic aperture radar signal processing system on desktop based computer has been a major challenge due to the large data size and highly intensive computations. Parallel processing using general purpose graphics processing unit offers the possibility to answer the problem with lower cost per Floating Point Operation per Second compare to the CPU based solution. In this paper, we present an implementation of Chirp Scaling Algorithm for SAR processing on NVIDIA CUDA GPU. The computational feature of CSA is theoretically described and the implementation strategy of CUDA GPU based parallel CSA is presented. Preliminary experiments results of processing 4096x4096 samples of raw simulated SAR data on a desktop computer with single medium class NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800 containing 192 GPU cores is summarized.
