In this invited talk, challenges and common practices to maintain signal integrity and mitigate electromagnetic interferences for high-speed connectors and cables are discussed. As the main interconnects in high-speed communications and data links, connectors and cables are the main players that could significantly affect signal qualities and contribute to the unwanted electromagnetic emissions. Thus, they need to be designed not only for mechanical reliability, but also for high-speed electrical performance.
