This study investigated the effect of routine steam autoclaving on the mechanical properties of melt-injected PLLA and PLLA-30 wt% TCP composite. Compressive and flexure moduli were slightly increased or unchanged. Changes in mechanical properties of PLLA and its composites after steam autoclaving indicated an increased crystallinity of PLLA matrix, resulting in brittle nature.
