The bark of Larix kaempferi was proven to be effective for removal of formaldehyde (FA) from wood vinegar. Little or no FA was detected in the distillate of wood vinegars after treatment with powdered bark of L kaempferi by boiling. The wood of L. kaempferi has no potency to remove FA, and the barks of other woods have some potency. However, L. kaempferi bark was proved to be most effective.
