The transfer ratios of essential oil components into model decoctions were determined at various volume ratios of crude drug vs. extractant. As a result, the effect of the volume ratio was observed by relative expression to standard decoction as in the case of non volatile non-essential oil components. The fact may be explained by that the effect of the volume ratios on the transfer ratios are to be determined as a relative change since the transfer ratio of essential oil components into standard decoction includes the volatile factor.
