This report is prepared from the specimens of Formosan Empididae which were taken by Professor T. SHIROZU during his tour of insect collecting in summer of 1961. The Formosan Empididae was extensively studied by M. BEZZI and R. FREY based upon the materials collected by H. SAUTER, and hitherto some sixty species comprised in sixteen genera were recorded from Formosa. However, it it no doubt that there occur many unknown species in this island, because among seven species brought by Professor T. SHIROZU, six species are new to science.
