Analysis of probability density function of propagation channel using parasitic antenna elements

Recently, Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system which uses several transmit and receive antennas has been studied. In addition to that, adaptive beamforming scheme also has been studied to improve the channel capacity. In particular, the adaptive steering on RF using parasitic antenna elements improves the channel capacity. In this paper, the radio communication system with parasitic antenna elements is analyzed in order to show the effect of parasitic antenna elements over the channel capacity, derivation of probability density function (PDF) of propagation channel using parasitic antenna elements as well as to formulate the theoretical channel capacity upper bound. This paper also shows the effect of correlation between the channels (S_<PT>, S_<RT>) and mutual coupling (S_<RP>) over the channel capacity.
