Cricotopus bifascia Tokunaga,1936をParatrichocladius Santos Abreu,1918に移し,再記載した.本種雄成虫は,よく発達するが中央で明瞭に分離した前前胸,明瞭な淡色部から生じ直立する中刺毛,および明瞭な肩孔を有する.P.yakukeleus Sasa et Suzuki,2000は本種の新参シノニムである.本種の最大の特徴は,Cricotopus属の多くの種と同様に,黒色および黄色からなる斑紋様の体色を呈することである.
