The purpose of this paper is to consider empirically the width of work experiences, or changes in work contents in the processes of promotion in a company, especially for future executives. As a whole, the process is considered as the career-making in a business office or business division whose work is deeply connected to work of the business office. A previous research suggests that this can be considered as a career in a broad work, taking place in a specialized area. It is also suggested, however, that special career-making can also be seen because of the period of the promotion to an executive. This is the training or evaluation of the capability to see the whole company from a larger point of view, or the capability to consider other fields different from one's specialized area.
