The centrifugal compressors are employed in great numbers by all industries today, and there are constant requirements for high efficiency, high pressure ratio, more compact construction, higher speed and large capacity. Especially, compactness and large capacity oblige to get high specific speed centrifugal impellers. Under those conditions, it is necessary to have high efficiency and wide operating range. So, many kinds of techniques to develop those high specific speed compressors are introduced. In those processes, laser two focus velocimeter and other methods were used and many numerical calculations based on modern aerodynamics were performed, repeatedly. As the result of those researches, high performance compressor with small impeller diameter 92mm was manufactured, which had large specific speed 0.21 at maximum total efficiency 0.80. Using this result much smaller compressor impeller whose diameter was about 30mm was developed, and achieved high efficiency 0.72 and high specific speed 0.20.
