De-interlacing is usually an adaptive processing with intra-field and inter-field interpolation. Many kinds of spatial direction adaptive intra-field interpolation are proposed. However, the effect of directional adaptation at intra is small. In this report, we apply spatial direction adaptive method for motion compensated inter-frame interpolation. In this method, direction vector is selected from upper or bottom one. Then, the processing for inter-frame interpolation is discussed, furthermore optimization of processing and effect of this processing are considered. About the motion compensated interpolation, we take bi-directional method. In this method, motion vector is given by recursive motion estimation. In examination, we use 60i picture which made from 60p and evaluate by PSNR and subjective picture quality. 60p pictures are native, and processing from 60p to 60i is reasonable at real video equipment. We confirm that improvement of PSNR is very small. However, subjective quality of picture is better than conventional methods.
