We regularize an infinite summation of the zero-point energy for the massless scalar field obeying the Dirichlet boundary condition on the surface of an equilateral triangular domain, and we calculate the Casimir energy for the relevant field configuration. To evaluate the infinite summation over two distinct nonzero integers, we generalize the Abel-Plana formula so that the finite summation in which the upper bound is a variable integer is expressed in terms of integrals. The obtained approximate value of the Casimir energy density in the equilateral triangular domain with side length L is 0.4681ℏ/L^3.
