Viscosity of Porous Low-Dielectric Glass Composite : Structure and Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Condensed Matter

The viscosity of a low-dielectric glass composite containing a low-softening-point borosilicate glass and a high-softening-point high silica glass as a function of porosity has been measured by an isothermal beam-bending technique using a commercial thermal mechanical analyzer. Results reveal that the apparent viscosity of the glass composite decreases with increasing porosity for porosity in the range of 0-40 vol%.
